Ingredients
knife and chopping board, scales and measuring jug, 3l saucepan, grater, wooden spoon, large breakfast bowls
Method

For more than 2 servings, first divide all displayed ingredient totals into separate batches of no more than 2. Use each batch’s share of the displayed amounts in its own equipment. Rinse, hull and quarter strawberries. Peel and slice banana. Reserve 30g strawberries and one quarter of the banana for topping.

Put oats and 450ml milk in a 3l saucepan, with all measured water, over medium heat and stir for 1 minute.

Bring gently to a simmer, stirring, then cook for 6–8 minutes until the rolled oats soften and the mixture thickens. Follow a longer packet time if needed; porridge thickens further as it stands.

Stir in remaining 90g strawberries and three quarters of the banana for the final minute.

Divide between bowls for this batch. Add optional milk in 15ml increments up to 30ml total if needed. Finish with honey and all reserved fruit.
