Focus ingredients: strawberries, banana

Dietary fit: Vegetarian

Serving tip: Best eaten immediately. If needed, refrigerate the blended mixture promptly at0–5°C and use within24hours or an earlier ingredient use-by limit. Keep crunchy toppings separate and transport with an ice pack. Prepare larger households in separate two-serving blender batches. For larger households, repeat complete batches; extra sequential cooking adds another cooking cycle and preparing more fruit takes longer.

  1. Strawberry Banana Smoothie Bowls cooking step 1: Get prepped.
    Step 1

    Prep the ingredients

For more than 2 servings, first divide all displayed ingredient totals into separate batches of no more than 2. Use each batch’s share of the displayed amounts in its own equipment. Use chilled dairy ingredients and fruit. Peel all bananas, reserve one-eighth of their total edible weight in slices and chop the remainder. Wash and hull strawberries, reserving 30g for topping.

  2. Strawberry Banana Smoothie Bowls cooking step 2: Start cooking.
    Step 2

    Finish and serve

Blend yoghurt, milk, remaining 90g strawberries and remaining seven-eighths of the banana for 30–45 seconds until evenly blended, switching the blender off before scraping down the sides as needed. Use a 1l blender jug with a working fill no more than 750ml, obeying its manufacturer’s minimum and maximum fill limits. For smaller quantities use a suitable narrow beaker and stick blender with its blade head submerged.
