How Shop Sorted handles your data.
We use your account details, household setup, food rules, plans, shopping lists, support messages and limited diagnostics to provide Shop Sorted, keep it secure, improve basket accuracy and respond to support.
This notice reflects the early-access service and will be kept under review as Shop Sorted grows.
Who controls your data
Shop Sorted is operated by Nicholas Jones, trading as Shop Sorted. Use the support centre for privacy questions and data rights requests. If you cannot use support, email shopsorted2026@gmail.com. Use support or email shopsorted2026@gmail.com for correspondence while Shop Sorted is in early access.
What we collect
- Account details: email address, hashed password, verification, reset and session records.
- Household setup: household size, retailer, budget, prep time, pantry items, weekly regulars and dislikes.
- Optional food rules: allergy, intolerance, strict dietary and nutrition-preference data. This may reveal information about health or beliefs, so we treat it as sensitive and keep it optional.
- Saved meal plans, recipe ratings, shopping lists, basket checks, retailer handoff status and support tickets.
- Billing records: Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, subscription status and billing event records.
- Essential security logs, error diagnostics and optional analytics where you consent.
Why we use it
We use account, planning and support data to provide the service, keep accounts secure, save your setup, generate plans and lists, assist with basket review, answer support requests and improve reliability.
Our expected lawful bases are contract, legitimate interests, legal obligations and consent where required. Food-rule acknowledgement version 2026-05-19 records that saved allergy, dietary and nutrition preferences are only used as an indication for planning.
Processors and transfers
Shop Sorted may use hosting, database, email, payment, analytics, error-monitoring and AI-service providers to run the product. Stripe processes subscription payments and card details; Shop Sorted stores subscription status and Stripe identifiers only. Some providers may process data outside the UK. We use appropriate safeguards, processor contracts and transfer terms where they are required.
Retention
We keep account and saved-plan data while your account is active. Support tickets are retained while needed to resolve the issue, maintain a useful support record and meet legal or operational needs. Analytics and diagnostic data should be minimised and retained only for as long as needed for product improvement and security review.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, export, restrict or delete your personal data by using account support or the support centre. If support is unavailable, email shopsorted2026@gmail.com. You can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office if you are unhappy with how your data is handled.
Important food and retailer limits
Shop Sorted provides planning support only. Always check retailer labels, packaging, ingredients, substitutions and any relevant medical advice before buying, cooking or eating.
